02.-03.06.2012 PREPARATION FOR THE TEST TAN
Goal of this test is to test congenital hunting talents of young dogs and not level training. They are open to certain types of hunting dogs. In test may participate dogs aged from 6 to 36 months. It takes place in the field when surroundings provides sufficient hideaways for animals and it does not limit dog in motion eg. Alfalfa, grasses, grain, stubble, thin forests. Avoid too difficult terrain. test is taken only on small feathered game (quail, partridge, pheasant) exam lasts 5 to 10 minutes, its allowed to re-enable dog, who was without game in his run in case that game is present in another location. Test takes place only «solo» this means that every dog is released to search separately. Inborn dog abilities are evaluated in three criteria: Game seek out instinct: Judge evaluates ability and willingness to find game in field, without putting too much emphasis on searching method. Pointing instinct: one animal in field must be correctly exposured. Training mistakes, or missing serenity after game fly up does not influence the overall evaluation. Temperament-balance: Judge oversees dogs behavior for whole test period. He must be sure of no timorous shooting reaction of dog. All time test monitors the behavior of dog. In particular, must ensure dog give smallest shy response to shooting.
